Tillandsia purpurea nº11
Tillandsia purpurea is a very variable species in shape. It grows on sand, rock and xerophytic vegetation, from near sea level to 900 (rarely 3100) meters of altitude, on the coasts of Ecuador and Peru. Species very similar to T. straminea and T. cacticola. Its multiple leaves, densely covered with trichomes, stand out, giving the plant a silvery appearance. Long floral bract, pink in color, flowers with a lilac edge and a white center, very scented. Tillandsia purpurea nº11 is a form of Tillandsia purpurea with long and numerous leaves, which grows along a stem reaching a large size unlike other forms. Plant resistant to sun and drought.
