Tillandsia straminea is a species distributed from southern Ecuador to central Peru, from coastal areas up to 2,500 meters in altitude. Its long leaves form an elegant rosette, densely covered with fine, velvety trichomes that give the plant an almost white color and a soft texture. Tillandsia straminea is relatively variable in form and variety. This particular form is characterized by its wider, fleshier leaves and its very long, branched pinkish bracts. It has white flowers with lilac edges and is very fragrant. It is a very easy plant to care for.
