Tillandsia secunda is a species native to Ecuador. Growing terrestrially or saxicolous from 2000 to 3500 meters of altitude. Tillandsia secunda is a plant that can reach a large size in its adult state. This plant stands out for its green/gray leaves covered by fine trichomes, with a brown base, hard to the touch, and forming a large open rosette. It is a slow-growing plant, producing a large pink inflorescence with violet tones, which carry numerous dark purple flowers. Due to its slow growth, we have not yet seen this plant flower and we assume that it can reach a giant size by doing so, referring to var. major.
