Tillandsia xiphioides is a species native to Bolivia, Paraguay, Brazil, Uruguay and northern Argentina. It is a fairly variable species and one of the most fascinating due to its rusticity and its spectacular flowering. It grows as epiphyte and saxícola from 700m to 3000m of altitude. Its leaves thickly covered by trichomes give a silver / metallic appearance to the very particular plant in this species. Large, palette-shaped, distichous floral bract, dark yellowish green. Large flowers, wavy and serrated on the margins, pure white, with an intense and pleasant citrus scent. Plant very resistant to drought and extreme temperatures.
