Tillandsia aeranthos es una especie distribuida por gran parte de Sudamérica, en países como Brasil, Uruguay, Paraguay y Argentina. Como muchas Tillandsias, es una especie con multiples formas y variaciones. Popularmente conocida como 'clavel del aire', junto con Tillandsia bergeri. Tenemos esta forma de aeranthos con hojas de color verde plateado por la gran presencia de finos tricomas, algo onduladas y suaves al tacto. Bráctea floral color rosado, flores con petalos azul intenso. Una planta popular con infinidad de formas que la hace muy preciada y que no puede faltar en ninguna colección.
