Tillandsia capillaris is a species within the subgenus Diaphoranthema. It is found in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and is one of the most variable species in shapes, sizes and varieties, there may be more than 50, which makes it very difficult to describe them all. T. capillaris f. hieronimii in particular has a markedly distichous whitish foliage, covered with small trichomes, growing longer than other capillaris. Yellow flowers. Particular shape.
