Tillandsia capillaris is a species within the subgenus Diaphoranthema. It is found in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and is one of the most variable species in shapes, sizes and varieties, there may be more than 50, which makes it very difficult to describe them all. This one in particular has dark colored foliage with nice shades and lilac / burgundy fringes, covered in small trichomes. Yellow flowers. Particular shape.
