Tillandsia tomekii is a species native to Peru. It grows on rocky cliffs in high mountain areas at altitudes of up to 2,400 meters. This lithophytic plant, which forms small clumps, has a very narrow rosette composed of numerous thin leaves that grow towards the stem and intertwine it like a conical rope. Its short inflorescence, with flattened, bright red spikes, produces violet flowers with white tips.
