Tillandsia delicata is an endemic species from Mexico, in the state of Oaxaca. It grows as epiphyte from 1200m to 1700m of altitude. Species similar to T. ionantha or T. scaposa. Its numerous leaves form a pseudobulb, green in color covered with large dense and appressed trichomes giving it a velvety appearance and a green / gray color. Its distal inflorescence exceeds the rosette, and is reddish in color as it matures. Its leaves turn red in flowering. Tubular lilac flowers.
