Tillandsia schreiteri is a species native to Argentina and Bolivia, growing epiphytically from 1,000 to 1,800 meters above sea level. This rare species can easily be confused with Tillandsia sphaerocephala. The only clear difference between these two species is the color of their petals, being white in T. schreiteri and lilac in T. sphaerocephala. They also share different habitats. This beautiful species has green leaves that are soft to the touch with a particular texture that, together with its very fine trichomes, gives the plant a particular shine.
